Join-time protections

What the Console checks when a player connects, and what happens when a check cannot be made.

The checks

Whitelist, reserved slots, priority players and the name filter come with Standard. Steam checks (VAC bans, account age, private profiles) and the ping limiter come with Pro. Staff and the owner are protected from the checks.

Steam checks and grace

Choose which rules apply, and give a grace: ignore VAC bans older than a number of days, and let in accounts a few days under the minimum age. Protect whitelisted and priority players if you want.

Good to know: Steam checks need the Console to be able to look the account up. If it cannot, the fail mode decides.

Ping limiter

Warns players whose ping stays above your limit for several readings in a row, then removes them. It reads the ping BattlEye reports over RCON, so RCON must be connected. Staff are never removed.

Fail mode: open or closed

When a check cannot be made, for example when Steam is down, open lets the player in (the default, so an outage never locks your server). Closed refuses with a message and the code DH-GATE-UNAVAILABLE until the check works again. The owner and staff always get in.

Coded reasons

Every automatic refusal, kick or ban ends with a code in square brackets, like [DH-GATE-VAC]. Players can type it on the reason code page (dayzhub.cloud/console/c) to read in their own language what it means and what they can do, with the appeal form when one is available. The page never shows staff, servers or the reason an admin typed.
